22:07.34 | __zao__ | is it possible to have subdirs in 'WEB-INF/lib' and organize the jars like that? |
22:10.27 | __zao__ | is see 'caucho' has a 'tree-loader' for this .. |
22:22.31 | jasonb | __zao__: That's a great question. The answer is: You can put whatever you want in WEB-INF/lib, but the webapp classloader will only load jars in the root of that directory, I'm pretty sure. But, I think there's a properties file for Tomcat 5.5+ that would allow you to specify what dirs inside there where you want to load more jars. |
22:23.05 | jasonb | __zao__: There isn't, to my knowledge any kind of recursive-search-for-jars webapp loader included with any version of Tomcat. |
22:23.47 | __zao__ | ok. so not even via a propertie file, what you first suspected? |
22:23.57 | *** join/#tomcat vinse (vinse@c-67-169-181-84.hsd1.ca.comcast.net) |
22:23.59 | jasonb | __zao__: However, your own webapp can choose to create its own classloader and/or otherwise load classes from any jar path inside of the WEB-INF/lib dir you want it to. |
22:25.28 | jasonb | __zao__: If you're using Tomcat 5.5, you can edit the catalina.properties file to accomplish much of what you're talking about I think. |
22:27.07 | __zao__ | jasonb: is there a equivalent to this file on webapp-basis? |
22:27.17 | __zao__ | i mean 'per webapp' |
22:39.56 | loquace | gn all |
22:53.35 | jasonb | __zao__: No, there is no equivalent to a catalina.properties file, per webapp. |
