22:23.26 | mithro | DocScrutinizer05: yes, we even use misoc/migen for our hdmi2usb firmware these days |
22:54.30 | DocScrutinizer05 | mithro: I'm not familiar with milkyway either (except for some cursory circuit review). I wonder if that opsis can receive and decode copy-protected stuff |
22:54.49 | mithro | DocScrutinizer05: milkymist |
22:54.56 | DocScrutinizer05 | oops yep |
22:55.13 | mithro | DocScrutinizer05: well, if someone ported the netv stuff it might be usable for that, but not a use case which we are supporting |
22:55.27 | DocScrutinizer05 | I see |
22:56.35 | DocScrutinizer05 | anyway it can decode the HDMI data it hands through from input to output? as well as encoding such data again? |
22:59.13 | DocScrutinizer05 | I recently noticed a very annoying thing in a PC I have here: when the HDMI screen attached during boot gets unplugged, it needs another reboot to make it work again after re-plugging it. I gather HDMI negotiates some connection from PC to the display during boot, and that breaks and never gets re-established when you unplug the display |
22:59.50 | DocScrutinizer05 | this makes HDMI basically completely useless for PC monitors |
23:01.16 | DocScrutinizer05 | in opsis feature tables I see "hotplug". Related? |
23:02.18 | mithro | DocScrutinizer05: yes |
