13:34.22mmphello; how exactly is it decided what package definitely goes into resulting image? I have one image where iconv is installed, although it is pulled by glib-2.0, which is not being installed by default
13:34.40mmp(and I'm not aware of any other dependency that could pull it into image)
13:34.52Ainulindalemmp: well, opkg info iconv will tell you that
13:35.06Ainulindale(or opkg remove iconv, anyway)
13:35.10mmpAinulindale, well, I don't have iconv
13:35.16mmpand theargh, opkg :)
13:35.34mmpthe problem is that the image itself now doesn't fit to flash
13:35.38AinulindaleWEll, you just told us iconv was installed
13:35.47AinulindaleTry to see the dependency graph then
13:35.47mmpAinulindale, sorry typo ;)
13:35.53zeckeAinulindale: eina... I assume it was found
13:36.02zeckeAinulindale: s/found/build/
13:36.02Ainulindalezecke: found? The bug?
13:36.06AinulindaleNo
13:36.08mmpiconv is installed, I don't have opkg installed, as it pulls another quite big dependencies
13:36.11AinulindaleI knew this problem zecke
13:36.19AinulindaleIt has been this way for two weeks IIRC
13:36.28AinulindaleI just built eina, then cleaned python-etk, rebuilt
13:36.30AinulindaleAnd it worked
13:36.47zeckeAinulindale: eet depends on eina, evas depends on eet, python-evas depends on evas, python-etk depends on python-evas
13:37.04Ainulindalezecke: then either I'm not up to date or something is borking
13:37.43zeckeAinulindale: e.g. evas is unlikely to build without Eina (checks that)
13:38.05Ainulindalezecke: hmmm
13:38.13Ainulindalepython-etk has a RDEPENDS on python-evas
13:38.17AinulindaleShouldn't it be DEPENDS?
13:38.29Ainulindale(if the dependency you're talking about is right)
13:38.33Ainulindale(that or eina in the DEPENDS)
13:38.37hrwmickey|ezx: is there a way to install all python modules in one go?
13:38.53zeckegood point
13:39.15zeckeAinulindale: but then python-etk is including python-efl.inc
13:39.21zeckeAinulindale: which has eina in DEPENDS :)
13:39.38zeckeAinulindale: I suspect python-etk needs a pkg-config --cflags eina
13:39.50AinulindaleThen why would it work after a rebuild?
13:39.50mickey|ezxhrw: no, might be a good addition to the generate-manifest script
13:40.00AinulindaleAnd anyway, why doesn't it build eina anyway before python-etk?
13:40.05hrwmickey|ezx: with perl it is just 'perl-modules'
13:40.12hrwlike with ernel
13:41.28zeckeAinulindale: it built eina
13:41.34zeckeAinulindale: otherwise evas does not build
13:41.40zeckeAinulindale: and you have the evas headers installed
13:42.14mmpAinulindale, looks like gnutls depends on it somehow (quite strange dependency, though)
13:42.32Ainulindalezecke: well, bitbake eina resulted in a build
13:42.42AinulindaleIt shouldn't have if the dependencies were managed correctly, wouldn't it?
13:42.53Ainulindale(Or I missed something)
13:43.12Ainulindalezecke: well anyway
13:43.13Ainulindalehttp://tinderbox.openembedded.net/builders/shr.bearstech.com/

13:43.30Ainulindale(Seems you're right anyway)

14:18.02mmpzecke: it's set
14:18.15mmpglib-2.0 depends on virtual/iconv

14:19.24mmpproblem is that some packages, finding iconv in staging, will automagically use it (e.g. libgpg-error), creating unwanted dependencies
14:20.48otaviommp: it looks like you'd need to provide a patchset to properly support it.
14:21.15otaviommp: i believe many people would like to get it however people not wanting it shouldn't be affected (like me :P)
14:21.30otaviommp: but this is indeed a good thing to be properly supported.
14:21.55mmpwell, I can at least fix libgpg-error...
14:22.23otaviommp: maybe you might build a package that provided a null-iconv. something like: fake-iconv.bb
14:22.46otaviommp: and it could provide virtual/iconv; so you could take it using a preffered version
14:23.12otaviommp: that way I think you solve your problem in an easy way while to not make noise for others ;-)
14:23.21otaviommp: give it a try and see if it works for you.
14:23.59mmpyes, it's possible, but it is a bit weird... why there is virtual/iconv, if the only package providing it is iconv itself...
14:24.12mmpI guess I should grep packages/ for virtual/iconv :)
14:24.19otaviommp: i believe glibc provides iconv too
