14:27.27mzajcI have a slight problem with KDE Plasma. Whenever I start my laptop with an external screen connected, window decorations and some other buttons become oversized. I can temporarily fix it by restarting plasmashell and kwin_x11. Is there any permanent fix for this?
14:28.46ZaisterI have two machines that I remote into with x2go, locally, I'd use Plasma, but since that does not work with x2go, I use lxqt. However, on one machine I regularly get multiple crash reports ("ldeinit5 closed unexpectedly") when I start a KDA app such as Dolphin or Konsole, but I don't get these crashes on the other machine. Here's a backtrace from one of these crashes: https://pastebin.com/vYnwcahV

14:46.33Zaisteror rather do you screens have different dpi?
14:46.37mzajcno, both of the screens are the same
14:46.55Zaisterhm, weird
14:46.59mzajcwell yes, one has higher dpi
14:48.08ZaisterAh, I think the window manager cannot assign different dpi values toindividual screens
14:48.31ZaisterFor example, I have a 4K screen with a higher dpi and a normal 1080p second screen.
14:48.35mzajcgotcha
14:48.45mzajcbut how do I explicitly define the dpi?
14:49.04ZaisterI have configured X for my main screen, and windows on my second screen have oversized window decoration because of that
14:49.24Zaisteryou can configure dpi in the fonts panel
14:49.57mzajcalright, let's see if this does the trick
14:50.33ZaisterI guess if your screen have differenty physical dpi values, you can't avoid that with X11

16:59.41Fuchs~/.local/share/plasma/desktoptheme/default/icons/  (on most installations)
17:00.07Fuchsyou can place .svg(z) there with the same name as the original, which should override the icon. That only goes for the plasma ones, third party apps usually work differently

18:49.01Chaekyungunrelated, there's KDE news today. https://blog.neon.kde.org/index.php/2019/06/11/kde-neon-5-16-out/  it's happening
18:49.14coz_Chaekyung, ") well I play it during breif breaks, but some of the games refuse to auto solve, when you get to a certain point. 3 versions ago it was fine
18:49.59*** join/#kde AC3J (~james@bbs.c-128.net)
18:50.00ChaekyungI actually never used the auto-solve feature if I had in theory played it during brief breaks myself
18:50.20Chaekyungbut if it worked before and doesn't now then that's a regression and you should file a complaint at https://bugs.kde.org/
18:50.30*** join/#kde work_ (uid44037@gateway/web/irccloud.com/x-lvaqonhjjmlqylrt)
18:51.16coz_Chaekyung, not the auto solve, just cards used to flip up when there was an opening, I know I am not saying that correctly
18:51.35coz_Chaekyung, ok thanks
18:52.10*** join/#kde soee_ (~soee@bic223.neoplus.adsl.tpnet.pl)
18:52.32Chaekyunghmm you haven't just by accident disabled it in the settings menu under enable solver?
18:52.59coz_Chaekyung, no it is only fr one or 2 games
18:53.21coz_the others work fine
18:54.13coz_I only say this because breaks are short
18:54.18coz_:)

19:55.08AzimothHi, I'm having a weird "problem" with KDE and wayland. When I click the application starter symbol in the task bar (usually bottom left corner, in my case top left corner), instead of opening up a menu, it brings a window into focus (usually pidgin or signal desktop client)...
19:55.33AzimothIt's hard to describe this, without knowing the proper terminology -.-'

20:21.28AzimothBy the way: The symbol apparently is enirely "re-linked" with pidgin... Hovering the mouse over it shows "Pidgin - Available", right klicking it opens the Pidgin menu...
20:22.01jankusanagi_sounds like Pidgin's tray icon is rogue, instead of being put inside the system tray plasmoid
20:23.42jankusanagi_it could be the case that Pidgin uses the old XEmbed method for the systray icon (probably), which Plasma supports via xembedsniproxy... and that might not work on Plasma-on-Wayland
