00:27.56Sho_mrtux: did you get a crash dialog?
00:27.56mrtuxit doesn't really crash i guess, it just freezes
00:28.00Sho_ah
00:28.04mrtuxi meant that sorry
00:28.26mrtuxi'm using arch linux if that helps
00:28.54Sho_hmm well not sure sorry ... if you had gotten a crash dialog w/ a backtrace there would be something to look at and stuff
00:29.26mrtuxalso my configuration could be causing it. when i use my laptop at my desk i close the lid and hook up two monitors to it. not sure if that would cause anythign either

06:11.23chriadamAny KDE PIM guys here?  Specifically, related to KCalCore - see https://github.com/mer-packages/kcalcore/pull/7 about a bug with test+fix.  I sent an email to the kde-pim list about it, but it's apparently waiting moderation.
06:12.01chriadamNote that the version of kcalcore we're using is about 4 years old, so it may be that the bug is already fixed upstream, but I checked the code and it looks the same upstream, so I think it probably is not (or it's fixed an entirely different way).

18:10.08riclimaHey guys
18:10.43riclimaAnyone know of a way of changing the default text editor in KDE 5?
18:12.04riclimaIn System Settings > Applications, it only lets me change on a by filetype basis. I'd like to substitute Kate for Emacs.
18:13.35toskyriclima: afaik there has never been a default text editor; it's was also by MIME type for Plasma
18:13.39toskyPlasma 1*

18:22.15riclimaOk, thanks. I'll keep searching I guess. Maybe there's a configuration file or command line tool.
18:24.16toskyI don't think there is a central configuration file for that, because what's missing is the idea of "default text editor"

18:28.49riclimaI know, but there's a list of MIME type configurations that come with the OS that have Kate as the software to open them. Perhaps a simple solution would've been to add a menu item that automatically switches an editor to all those pre-selected MIME types to top priority, instead of having to change it on a case-by-case basis.
