17:02.03rdieterHoneyman: as I understand, qt/kde already automatically respects the dpi as reported by your monitor.  unfortunately, the gui to  manually change dpi only allows one to set a single value

17:04.19Honeymanrdieter: well, the only place I've found is inside font setting (though why? are fonts the only thing which should change for a different DPI?..), and the "automatical respecting" seems affecting nothing...

17:07.47rdieterHoneyman: once upon a time, only fonts scaled with dpi,  true.

17:08.34*** join/#kde sandman667 (~Grayson@p4FC6224C.dip.t-dialin.net)
17:09.05rdietermind you, that gtk pretty much  ignores dpi and hard-codes 96 generally
17:09.41Honeymanrdieter: well, xdpyinfo, as well as the whole X, seems to see two monitors connected via standard KDE means as a single :0 display...
17:10.24rdieterI suppose you  could calcuate dpi from xrandr output
17:10.26Honeymanrdieter: for example, xrandr reports a single "Screen 0", with two monitors listed underneath
17:11.10rdieteroh, then your video driver is at  fault here (well,  fault may be too strong, but kde  expects each screen to be reported separately by xrandr)
17:11.36rdieterif you want it to  be configurable at  least
17:11.36Honeymanwell, it says dimensions: 2680x1280 pixels (481x230 millimeters); resolution: 142x141 dots per inch
