02:23.08AlexZionhi everyone, I have a problem with Kmail, about invalid maildir for collection, I found a post on the commnity forum and I did exaclty what  some other people did to solve the problem , but my problem is still there ...., someone can help me ?

02:35.11AlexZionmhhh, may be there is no way to solve it yet ....
02:35.52AlexZionit should be an akonadi problem .....
02:38.48*** join/#kde Elv13 (~lepagee@208.92.19.18)
02:40.00jeorgunI had a similar issue with Kmail some time ago, but I wasn't able to solve it without deleting nepomuk's database and re-indexing everything, which obviously isn't an ideal solution.
02:41.04pfred1man they really don't want me to build this stuff do they?
02:42.21AlexZionjeorgun: so do you think should I try removing nepomuk's database ?
02:42.52jeorgunIf nothing else works.
02:43.02AlexZionI mean , it should be a known bug , I found this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/akonadi/+bug/872454
02:44.39AlexZionand actually my nepomuk service is off .....

02:48.07AlexZionwell , so it looks like I cannot use a simple mail client , without using akonadi and even nepomuk !?!, I'm a bit disappointed about that ......
02:48.32*** join/#kde likewhoa (~likewhoa@server5.maserver.com)
02:52.35AlexZionanyway , restarting the nepomuk services and after that restarting akonadi services , seems to works ....., thanks jeorgun for the suggestion....

19:35.11\marcoI'm curious too, how you can maximize a window without a wm?
19:35.39Sho_\marco: i'm guessing by "no wm" he just means "no window decos"
19:35.41judgen\marco: with xterm you set the size in the xinit script
19:35.46\marcooh
19:36.10Sho_\marco: but even if not: since it'll be put at 0,0 you just need to set the size to <res>
19:36.12judgenSho_: no taskbar or anything else either
19:36.20Sho_the taskbar isn't part of the wm anyway
19:36.30judgenSho_ tru
19:36.47Sho_judgen: just put konsole wrapped by some kstart argument into .xinitrc and run startx, i guess
19:36.53\marcointeresting :)

19:40.14Sho_(maybe blackbox can too, dunno)
19:41.17\marcoso the answer is..... add a custom session without any DE or WM?
19:41.30\marcowith only a .xinitrc?
19:41.41Sho_well, two options
19:41.48Sho_write a new session file and put it where kdm can find it
19:41.54Sho_or write an .xinitrc and use startx
19:42.20Sho_i mean, it's not magic: kde's regular session is just a shell script, too
19:42.28judgenaccording to documentation could "konsole --geometry=100x100" work
19:42.35\marcoclearly depends on what judgen will have to do
19:42.40Sho_and plasma-desktop is actually started using the normal autostart system nowadays
19:42.55Sho_so that shellscript could either start konsole wrapped by kstart
19:43.11Sho_or it could start kwin and konsole, and let kwin take care of maximizing konsole and hiding the deco
19:43.12\marconice
19:43.49Sho_the regular session is basically the same, only it starts a few things more :)

22:40.27Alan_HicksGood afternoon everyone. I'm running Slackware64-current with KDE 4.8.2. After recently rebooting using the launcher->logout-> reboot, everytime I log into KDE now, the desktop is upside-down. It starts loading properly, then by the time it reaches the K logo just before giving you the desktop, everything inverts and fonts and such are screwed up.
22:40.56Alan_HicksThe mouse isn't inverted, and the toolbar stays on the bottom, but the laucher is inverted, terminal windows and fonts are inverted, etc.
22:42.09Alan_HicksI've done an "mv ~/.kde ~/.kde-backup; startx" and it made no difference. The default KDE desktop started loading without my customized setup and flipped at the end just like before.
22:44.00Alan_HicksJust tried it as the root user which had never loaded X before and KDE behaved the same way, so it isn't a setting tied to my local user.
22:46.09Alan_Hicksreboots don't clear the issue either.
