03:32.44jiancI can't seem to find any posts by klinux or ACL about porting hdpi desire apps to the klinux sense build :/
03:35.20jianccould anyone be kind enough to guide me in the right direction?

08:25.50Alex[sp3dev]bardzusny: are you the guy trunning to run debian poop on the hd2?
08:25.57Alex[sp3dev]s/trunning/trying/g
08:26.20bardzusnyyup
08:26.27bardzusnyi think so
08:26.53Alex[sp3dev]so what?
08:27.52bardzusny:)
08:29.46Alex[sp3dev]I want to run (well, I mean, with all hardware) ubuntu on galaxy s2. I have already written modem support for libsamsung-ipc so fsogsmd should work. Now I'm thinking of rewriting kernel poop for hdmi, accelerometers, gyro etc.
08:34.16bardzusnyif you get shr apps to work, let me know how
08:34.39*** join/#htc-linux helicopter88 (~helicopte@host85-114-dynamic.53-79-r.retail.telecomitalia.it)
08:38.21Alex[sp3dev]bardzusny: at least I can assure you they work fine on debian. I tried fsogsmd on my laptop, works fine. But you may need to recompile some plugins. Btw, FSO in debian was updated and now includes a package for G1. You can just rename conf files in /etc and the modem should work
08:39.08bardzusnyfsogsmd works
08:39.39bardzusnyfsodeviced is broken, because it needs newer libfso-glib (my research, may be wrong). phone-ui apps give you black screen
08:39.47Alex[sp3dev]kill them with fire

15:55.19jonpryhi
15:55.30jonpryfor cpu1?
15:56.11detuleare you doing anything special to offline cpu 1?
15:56.33detulethe machine_kexec code i see in your repo looks very stock
15:56.57jonprythere is the stuff in module_init to get hotplug going
15:57.09jonprybut we just use hotplug
15:57.22jonpryi had considered penning cpu1
15:57.23detuleso where is it during this in wfi?
15:57.48jonprywell its off
15:58.00jonprythere is this notion of power domains
15:58.01detulelike all the way power collapsed?
15:58.04jonpryyes
15:58.06detulehm
15:58.27jonprybtw i was thinking you might be able to cause that
15:58.27detulemsm code doesn't allow power collapse via hotplug i don't thik
15:58.37detuleat best it throws them in wfi
16:00.52jonpry* Executed by primary CPU, brings other CPUs out of reset. Called at boot
16:00.52jonpry<PROTECTED>
16:00.52jonpry<PROTECTED>
16:01.03jonpry^^platsmp.c
16:02.08detulethis is what hotplug does https://gitorious.org/sprint-sgsiii/sprint-sgsiii/blobs/master/arch/arm/mach-msm/hotplug.c#line45
16:02.09jonpryanyways i kind of have the same problem
16:02.19jonpryit isn't in wfi, but its in wfe
16:02.34detuleboot secondary (when cold_boot_done is set) just toggles pen_release
16:02.57*** join/#htc-linux MethoS- (~clemens@134.102.106.250)
16:03.01jonprywhat does msm_pm_cpu_enter_lowpower do?
16:03.10detulewfi
16:03.40jonpryah
16:03.41jonprymsm_spm_turn_on_cpu_rail(cpu);
16:03.44detulehttps://gitorious.org/sprint-sgsiii/sprint-sgsiii/blobs/master/arch/arm/mach-msm/pm-8x60.c#line991
16:04.16detuleyeah but it does that only on cold_boot
16:04.17jonpryif you can turn it on. it stands to reason it can be turned off
16:04.46jonpryand it thinks it is a coldboot
16:05.04jonpryand wfi could be a real problem
16:05.25detulei don't think i can write to the reset vector unless it's completely offlined no?
16:05.48jonprysounds right
16:06.45jonpryor at least it won't have any effect
16:08.40detulethis smp code is super not optimized for kexec
16:09.40jonpryi think creating a msm_spm_turn_off_cpu_rail(1); could do the trick
16:10.10detuleor just force  msm_pm_cpu_enter_lowpower into power_collapse?
16:10.52detulei mean the code is there for power collapse but it's boardfile configs disallow power collapse (of any of the cores really)
16:14.03jonpryif you do power collapse then you might have to change the reset vector code
16:14.10jonprylike that is the problem i had
16:14.41jonpryit used a different vector coming from powerdomain = OFF then it did when doing a real cold boot
16:14.56jonpryand also it turned on seemingly of its own free will
16:15.32detuleohh
16:15.45detulenot cool
16:18.42jonpryi dunno. once i knew what was going on, it was like a 30 minute project
16:20.10jonpryso it seems MSM_SAW1_BASE + 0x14 has definitely got what you need
16:20.29jonprybut i'm not sure about what to put in it :p
16:20.50detulei see, i got a boot_vector and a reset_vector in here
16:23.51jonprylike msm_pm_boot_config_before_pc()
16:23.54*** join/#htc-linux kiozen (~kiozen@ppp-93-104-86-185.dynamic.mnet-online.de)

16:26.54*** join/#htc-linux walter79 (~walter79@31-17-62-189-dynip.superkabel.de)
16:27.40jonpryi think if you can collapse cpu1. then this can work
16:27.59detuleyeah i get a single clock failure, and the modem resets (and hangs the device i think)
16:28.07detulenot sure how much of that is tied to cpu1 not being online
16:28.13detulei have no idea where the modem is on this
16:28.32jonpryso i had trouble with clocks waking up cpu1
16:28.55jonpryand i had to delay the ones causing the trouble until cpu_up
16:29.01detuledsi1_byte_clk status stuck at 'off' <- this guy fails for me
16:29.11detulegoogling tells me DSI stands for display serial interface
16:29.20detuleand the stack trace is coming from msm_fb
16:29.23jonprythat might be ok
16:29.32jonprylike it only prints the clocks that fail
16:29.38detuleyeah
16:29.45jonpryso maybe it successfully turned on cpu1 clock right after that
16:30.03jonpryand caused hyperspace jump :D
16:30.14detulei don't even know which one is the cpu1 clock
16:30.27jonpryjust find the one that causes the crashing
16:30.48jonpryor you can call you set boot, reset,pc vector stuff before clock init
16:31.30jonpryin theory you can bring it up before cpu_up. as long as it doesn't go anywhere bad
16:32.17detulei mean if cpu1 is stuck in wfi then setting whatever vector to the msm_start_secondary address is failing...so when gic sends an interrupt to wake it up it has no idea where to go
16:32.55jonpryso hit power collapse
16:33.10jonpryand set the pm boot vector thing
16:33.35Alex[sp3dev]wait.. shouldn't aux cores wait for the primary core to clear some flag before booting, even if they exit wfi?
16:33.53jonpryonly if there code hasn't been zonked
16:33.59jonprythey have random pc's
16:34.55jonpryfor that matter they have icache and dcache on. unflushed with stale data
16:35.45Alex[sp3dev]sucks to be them
16:36.16jonprywell. i got cpu1 on kexec :)
16:37.39jonpryAlex[sp3dev] you ever mess with framebuffer_console on omap4?
16:38.31Alex[sp3dev]jonpry: no. in uboot, we don't have display when booting from xloader. when chainloading from sbl, we just write to the initialized fb. I do plan to add fb support to uboot for tuna
16:38.43Alex[sp3dev]jonpry: in other words, just write to the fb pointer
16:38.59Alex[sp3dev]and give it some time to update
16:39.02jonpryi just want it for ubuntu
16:39.04Alex[sp3dev]like, some thousand nops
16:39.14Alex[sp3dev]ah, that. framebuffer console
16:39.18Alex[sp3dev]yeah, it just works
16:39.26Alex[sp3dev]well, not 'just'
16:39.29jonpryhrm. see mine doesn't update
16:39.40Alex[sp3dev]tuna has pentile so colors are broken in fb console
16:40.17Alex[sp3dev]jonpry: have you tried running ubuntu yet?
16:40.30Alex[sp3dev]I guess powervr opengl drivers from panda should work?
16:40.58jonpryi havent tried very hard
16:41.20jonpryi have an old ramdisk that seems to boot. but the console doesn't really work
16:41.50jonpryhaven't tried x
16:41.53Alex[sp3dev]which kernel version is that?
16:41.58jonpry3.0.8
16:42.15Alex[sp3dev]should probably be no different from galaxy nexus
16:44.40jonprydid you try ubuntu on it?
16:45.30Alex[sp3dev]no, not yet. I was busy with android hacking, ported uboot and rewrote ril (using libsamsung-ipc from nexus s replicant port)

19:09.23Alex[sp3dev]hyc: long time no see!
19:09.32hychowdy howdy!
19:10.01hycrequires building the kexec syscall as a loadable module since the stock kernels don't have it
19:10.14hycI haven't sat down to try it myself yet
19:10.22Alex[sp3dev]you have a d4?
19:10.48Alex[sp3dev]would be nice to unbreak kexec on smp once and for all
19:10.50hycbut it would be an ideal way to get the ICS leaked kernel running without blowing away the stock GB bootloacer
19:10.59hycyes, have a d4 now
