00:19.05WisTilt2jonpry: any reason we'd ever need to deal with outer cache?
00:19.40jonpryno we don't have that
00:19.47WisTilt2good
00:19.55WisTilt2ok building for hopefully final test
00:20.52jonprythese cache errors are easily identifiable. randomly placed bars of 16 pixels wide
00:21.14WisTilt2is that what i was seeing stuff from cache?
00:22.04jonpryi don't really know what you were seeing
00:22.35jonprysleep deprivation + lsd could do lots of strange things
00:22.41WisTilt2bars like you said above.
00:22.54WisTilt2lol, yeah was trippin' with that 60's screen earlier
00:23.24jonprythe horizontal bars are the kind of thing caused by no cache flush
00:24.23WisTilt2hmm, im still getting those horizontal bars but now only when i touch the screen within an app
00:25.36jonprycould also be caused by the tiler
00:26.43WisTilt2its messing with fancy widget now and then also but background staying like it should.
00:28.05jonprysounds like progress
00:28.49WisTilt2kexec is making this testing numerous kernels so much nicer
00:30.59jonpryno kexec on 3.1 yet
00:34.48*** join/#htc-linux Rob2222 (~Miranda@p4FFF1B9F.dip.t-dialin.net)
00:37.58WisTilt2jonpry: dumb question maybe but is the dst_len always going to be the same as src_len in mdp_ppp_do_blit?
00:38.21jonpryno
00:38.35jonprythe destination is almost always the framebuffer
00:38.52WisTilt2so dst should always be fb size?
00:38.57jonpryyes
00:39.11WisTilt2ok that makes my math easier then.  thats probably what i did wrong here
00:41.45jonpryif dest=src size its probably easier to just memcpy it
00:42.39WisTilt2src should never be > dst or can that happen?
00:43.46jonpryi guess it could. not sure if it does

00:52.27WisTilt2looks like tiling has slowed the hell out of 3d
01:01.31jonpryhmm
01:01.40jonpryhow much?
01:02.32WisTilt2in quadrant normal during 3d test runs 10-15fps, now its 4-8 so 50%
01:02.42WisTilt2score went from 198 down to 80
01:04.21jonprymaybe its software rendering?
01:04.54WisTilt2no, quadrant kicks an error and cant run if in software only mode
01:05.10WisTilt2says something about stencil mode not supported when that happens

01:06.04jonpryhow is neocore?
01:07.34WisTilt2running now, looks much slower and i can see each frame pausing briefly
01:08.15d3tul3trying to pair with the TP
01:09.04WisTilt2not good. 8.6fps
01:09.16WisTilt2BT on the horizon there d3tul3?
01:09.27d3tul3not sure what i did but hci0 came up
01:09.58WisTilt2i got the device to come up just userland never saw it.  you change kernel or working on userland?

01:11.32WisTilt2jonpry: btw, cache flush code totally cleared up the blips
01:11.57d3tul3kernel i got the checkmark in BT
01:12.02d3tul3just can't pair with the touchpad
01:13.17jonpryis 8.6 fps better or worse than no copybit?
01:15.35WisTilt2no copybit? dont know what you mean, software rendering?
01:17.04d3tul3"Paired but not connected" wth does that mean?
01:17.13jonprywell ashmem worked  with no changes. that was same as no copybit
01:17.41jonpryd3tul3, touchpad has no services the tp2 can use
01:17.54d3tul3how about other android phones?
01:17.57WisTilt2you mean with pmem device gone and none of these other mods?  dont think i even ran neocore like that to know.

01:18.41jonpryWisTilt2, yeah like that. somebody ran fps2d. i can get the score from the logs
01:19.08WisTilt2i have a kernel setup like that, ill run neocore on it and see after this test
01:26.02d3tul3ugh need a bt device
01:26.39jonpryi managed to get touchpad to transfer files to my laptop
01:27.00jonprybut i had to use some stupid market app. because of that paired but not connected thing
01:27.15jonprypretty sure that if it pairs its working fine
01:27.59WisTilt2jonpry: ashmem like before with pmem device gone, neocore 23.4fps
01:28.13WisTilt2so tiling is slowing it down that much?
01:28.33jonprysomething is not quite right

03:20.22jonpryany luck with performance?
03:20.22WisTilt2any other ideas for this tiling or can we do it another way?
03:20.35jonprycan i see it?
03:20.45WisTilt2nope, enable ashmem and it falls on its face
03:21.36WisTilt2the files i sent you are pretty much the same plus the cache stuff.  ill send you everything. maybe you can see what the prob is
03:22.17jonprywell you added something to mdp_ppp_do_blit() right?
03:22.25jonprysomething substantial i would hope
03:22.48jonpryand how do you handle the virt to phys translation?
03:23.23WisTilt2hmm, i dont. light bulb comes on:)
03:23.36jonprywell if its working
03:23.52jonprymust be failing and returning error to userland?
03:30.48WisTilt2give me a few, trying something that might be my problem
03:40.30d3tul3i have the emwe sleep with BT problem
03:42.33jonprystill running gposit?
03:43.52d3tul3yes
03:44.35jonprymine is still going too. battery drain must not be too bad
03:44.41d3tul3the device can now suspend only if bluetooth ON
03:45.03jonprylpm?
03:45.03sykosoftheard the rhod400 arrived
03:45.46d3tul3emwe has this same problem in .35
03:46.03d3tul3might be a userland issue, or lpm if we are all somehow using an updated version of lpm that has broken something
03:46.23d3tul3the wakeup_wakelock is evdev
03:47.09jonpryif it doesn't sleep there is no wake no?
03:48.53d3tul3i had to change one call in raph-rfkill this switch_all statement that seems to be handled differently in 3.1 perhaps that's what broke it
03:53.07jonpryi dunno this is ware i got stuck too
03:53.16jonprywhere
03:55.58d3tul3you had this thing pairing? damnit feel like half the time i am trying to figure out what you did in june
03:57.31jonpryi don't remember if it paired or not. i just couldn't get lpm / sleep to behave
03:57.43jonprywith or without the firmware loaded. it was always nutso
03:59.10d3tul3k then i can rule out userland since that was back on froyo i guess
03:59.18d3tul3lpm looks identical as in 27
03:59.20jonpryit causes sod's too. i put trace in the lpm interrupt and you could see that the hangs were just an interrupt storm in that stupid thing
04:15.15d3tul3got it to suspend
04:19.22jonpryand work?
04:19.36d3tul3well to the extent that i can test it without a headset
