00:24.59tmztdruidu: hey
00:25.06tmzthe's travelling
00:30.10druiduah, I see
00:31.07tmztwhat have you been working on?
00:31.28tmztyour console is now htcfb and used on all the devices so far
00:31.44tmztthough we would prefer to have proper mdp init
00:35.28druiduhehe, nice
00:36.06druiduwell, i've been really busy with school and other stuff, but finished my final thesis yesterday, so I'm officially an engineer now :)
00:36.39druidubtw, I tried the android-diam500-20090622.rar distro for my diamond
00:37.05druiduthe thing is, only my console works, display stops when it tries to switch to frame buffer console
00:37.07tmztyay
00:37.14tmztwhat kind of engineer?
00:37.31tmztwhich mtype?
00:37.40druiduand removing console=/dev/tty1 from default.txt cmd line fixes that, it now switches to fb console
00:37.57druidu1805
00:37.58tmztah
00:38.06druiduI have p3700, diamond-100 that is
00:38.32tmztI'm thinking about adding drm support for mdp, know how that might work?
00:38.38druiduwith other flavors, does the fb console get activated?
00:38.40tmztoh
00:38.45tmztdiam500 is cdma
00:38.53druidumine is -100
00:38.58tmztwhich others?
00:39.00tmztright
00:39.18druiduI dunno, the default is with console=tty0 actually
00:39.41druiduand I'm wondering if it's there for a reason, 'cause for my diamond-100 it makes it work really bad :)
00:39.48tmztnot getting this
00:40.09druiduok, so in default.txt I have: set cmdline "root=/dev/ram0 init=/init console=tty0 ... "
00:40.10druiduright?
00:41.13*** join/#htc-linux surge (i=surge@pool-98-118-158-217.bflony.fios.verizon.net)
00:41.17druidutmzt: what kind of engineer? => CS engineer I guess :)
00:41.17tmztok
00:41.23tmztcool
00:41.26druiduok, I boot android
00:41.28druidumy console fires
00:41.46druiduafter like 20 lines, I get the switching to real console => tty0 (my console is only a boot console)
00:41.51druiduand after that, screen freezes
00:41.56tmztI think handover fails randomly, not related to console=
00:42.02druiduand after a few minutes sometimes it works, sometimes not
00:42.10tmztyes
00:42.13druidubut after removing console=tty0 is works perfectly
00:42.17tmzttry a different kernel
00:42.37druiduit's not the kernel, console=tty0 is bad for this kernel + my android
00:42.46druidu* my htc
00:43.40druiduas I remember from the mdp_fb driver, console=tty0 doesn't really make sense
00:44.10tmztthat really has nothing to do with it
00:44.20tmzttty0 is all vc's
00:44.44tmztis CONFIG VT enabled?
00:46.13druidudunno, it's a build from connect-utb
00:46.27druiduhttp://connect-utb.com/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=58&task=viewcategory&catid=5

00:46.53tmztneither are here
00:47.14tmztyou could also try the ltg git kernel, htc-linux-2.6.27
00:47.23druiduanyway, I'm glad the touchscreen driver finally has the irqs working
00:47.34druiduyeah, I'm cloning the git tree right now
00:48.02tmztyes
00:48.04druidugood thing is I finally got around to ditching windows and I'm all linux now, no more work via ssh
00:48.14tmztah, good
00:48.25tmztyou used vs for school?
00:48.32druiduso I'm gonna get the sources, the toolchains, and try to make this damn android work
00:48.40tmztgreat
00:49.23druidunot really, but I did a lot of web dev stuff... needed adobe cs3
00:49.38druiduand also, office 2007 still beats open office :)
00:49.53tmztsure
00:50.11druiduanyway, kubuntu rulez :)

01:08.32tmztdruidu: cool, we need to get xip booting to work
01:08.56tmztI think we need early haret working first, so we can trace driver init
01:09.11druiduxip ?
01:09.28druiduah, make it boot directly
01:09.36tmztyes
01:10.09tmztwe replace the xip partition on nand with a bootloader and kernel
01:10.21druiduyeah... I tried reverse engineering the drivers for a bit, but couldn't find the tools for extracting the files and gave up
01:10.35druiduxip is short for what?
01:10.41tmztextracting
01:10.49tmztexecute in place
01:10.53druiduah
01:11.04tmztreference to when ce was in rom
01:11.16tmztin this case xip gets loaded to ram by spl
01:11.38druiduso I found *some* tools, but they only worked until some point... after that, it wouldn't recognize the files and spit out some garbage files
01:11.48tmztImgFsTools ?
01:11.50druidumaybe the made them work, I'll look into it some more
01:12.04druidulemme check, it's been over half a year ago :)
01:12.30tmzttry 2.1
01:12.50tmzton linux, use code.google.com/p/htc-flasher
01:13.00tmztand the ImgfsTools v2.1 in wine
01:13.11druiduno linux build?
01:13.16druiduhope it doesn't use .net
01:14.33druidumaybe it was QMAT?
01:14.38tmztit doesn't
01:14.45tmztqmat doesn't use .net either
01:15.01tmztit barely works in wine though, somethings do, somethings don't
01:15.22tmztthe tools that htc:flasher is missing do work in wine
01:15.28druiduI used it in windows anyway, it was in the windows-ages :)
01:33.57druidu2.1rc2 is the latest?
01:38.23tmztyeah, I think so
01:44.53druiduok, let's say I have an .nbh file
01:45.30druiduwhat's the sequence of tools to run to get files? imgfstools looks exactly as I remember it, tried all those tools in all the combinations and couldn't get interesting files out of it
01:45.54druiduNBInfo.exe on the nbh complains it doesn't have a valid sector, I guess I need to use something else before that
01:47.36tmztask in #xda-dev
01:47.52tmztnbsplit I think
01:53.02druiduI tried NBHextract first, this seems to be the tool because at least it detects that it's a diamond image
01:53.15druidubut the tools don't recognize the resulting nb file
01:57.11druiduxda-dev is completely empty :)
01:57.46druiduok, as I see it... NBsplit only has proper params for *some* devices, I need to determine params for diamond
01:58.04druiduproblem is I don't know how the partition table should look like, so I can look for it in the file
02:03.19druiduah, I  need to reg I see
02:11.09druidunevermind... I just realized I tried to do this on those small RUU_Signed.nbh images and there's probably not much to extract from them :)

03:49.37jon_RHey guys... it's life02 from the polaris android branch... I'm only getting ~15 fps in neocore with the current GPU1 settings that I added to board-htcpolaris.c... Also after running neocore, i'm getting a multicolored scrambled screen behind popup notifications. Jessie mentioned the memory address might be wrong for GPU1. I'm using 0x17500000 for BASE and 0x00800000 for size. From what I've read GPU1 should be MSM_PMEM_ADSP
03:49.37jon_R_BASE + MSM_PMEM_ADSP_SIZE which in my case is 0x17500000. Any ideas?

03:56.21tmztnot sure what your asking
03:56.34tmztmaybe dzo can help when he's here
03:57.49tmztwhat kernel are you isng htc-vogue?
03:58.34jon_Rhey tmzt... I'm not too sure either unfortunately... I'm really new to development scene... just trying to help the polaris users out
03:59.06jon_RI'm compiling my own kernel based on dzo's htc-vogue repository
03:59.51tmztokay
03:59.58tmztpola should be close to kais
04:00.20jon_Rright that's what i thought since they are both based on the msm7200 chipset
04:00.22tmztI know dzo had gpu working with g1 libhgl driver on vogue
04:00.52jon_Ri was able to port the gps from the kaiser but the GPU1 settings from the kaiser don't work
04:03.52tmztoh
04:03.54tmztokay
04:04.15tmztthought those would be the same
04:04.30tmztor maybe you are missing the rpc to start 3d
04:08.30jon_Rwhen I launch neocore with the kaiser GPU1 settings it freezes requiring a battery pull... with the vogue settings it runs at around 15fps.. the OS seems snappier as well. Would neocore work with the vogue settings if the rpc was missing?
04:10.24tmztneocore?

18:54.10MikeKnoophello
18:54.28q_tprothe mddi_clk in the current raphael code does not match the wince value
18:55.10silent-hackerhello there
18:55.10q_tprowiki value for the NS register is 0xa19
18:55.37q_tproand g1 code calls for 122.88 Mhz
18:56.25silent-hackeri've acquired an epc 700 that comes along with a wince version
18:57.10silent-hackerwhich version of linux do you guys recommend for this?
18:57.37Captnoordq_tpro: what do you mean?
19:00.05*** join/#htc-linux q_tpro_ (n=q_tpro@host-1-146-66-217.spbmts.ru)
19:00.37Captnoordq_tpro: what do you mean?
19:00.43Captnoordrelated to clocks
19:00.43Captnoord?
19:00.53q_tpro_silent-hacker: which cpu do youhave ?
19:01.03q_tpro_Captnoord: disconnected again
19:01.14Captnoordk
19:01.22q_tpro_[21:56] <q_tpro> but the 0xa19 lower bit means that it is sourced from PLL1
19:01.24q_tpro_[21:56] <q_tpro> which is 768MHz
19:01.25q_tpro_[21:56] <q_tpro> and not from PLL0
19:01.27q_tpro_[21:57] <q_tpro> 0xa00 is the clock enable setting, so 0x18 should be some PLL clock divider
19:01.28q_tpro_[21:58] <q_tpro> if we will use the 0xa19 value (on raph100 and blac100) it's not going to be PLL0...
19:01.59Captnoordhmmm I see
19:02.05q_tpro_Captnoord: the msm7201A clocks are a mess, but i've understood some things about it
19:02.30q_tpro_there are 3 PLLs and TCX0
19:02.48q_tpro_PLL0, PLL1, PLL2 and TCX0
19:03.19q_tpro_PLLx are derived from TCX0 (MSM_CLK+0x3xx)
19:03.25Captnoordso its setting the wrong pll
19:03.29Captnoordor
19:03.38Captnoordsetting the wrong div for the wrong pll
19:03.43q_tpro_the PLL0 is used for bluetooth (at least)
19:04.10Captnoordhmmm I see
19:04.12q_tpro_and the PLL1 for SD
19:04.42q_tpro_all the clock sources are used for different ARM11 speeds (acpuclock.c)
19:05.09q_tpro_so PLL2 (the TCX0*55) is used only for the 528MHz cpu clock
19:05.24*** join/#htc-linux luc_ (n=luc@89-115-128-35.cl.ipv4ilink.net)
19:05.55Captnoordso its a mess..... the wrong pll's are set and stuff?
19:05.59q_tpro_the power manager code pm.c may disable the plls (commented out for raph)
19:06.01CaptnoordI can check the clck.dll
19:06.05Captnoordif you want
19:06.17q_tpro_but it's a very braindead idea
19:06.22Captnoordyup
19:06.22silent-hackerq_tpro_: i was afk

19:06.29silent-hackeroops
19:06.38silent-hacker<PROTECTED>
19:06.38q_tpro_we may kill the arm9 this way
19:07.06q_tpro_btw, the current PWR_OFF DEX call should be moved into pm.c
19:07.31q_tpro_silent-hacker: something unusual for a htc phone ?
19:08.12q_tpro_Captnoord: who can commit patches to the linuxtogo git ?
19:08.37Captnoordcmonexaway
19:08.41silent-hackerq_tpro_: this is actually an umpc and i'm not familiar with htc phones
19:08.48Captnoordmaybe some more
19:08.51Captnoordbut its hard
19:08.57Captnoordmaejrep[w]: also I think
19:09.36q_tpro_i think that the bluetooth clock fixes, and the ADSP stuff of cr2 are obvious bugs, ans we may all benefir from them
19:09.37silent-hackerq_tpro_: something like this http://www.littlelinuxlaptop.com/images/littlelinuxlaptop_small.jpg
19:09.49silent-hackerexcept, it comes with a wince
