02:05.09Kevin2xur1z: Apache directions are on http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/ApacheLinux
02:14.22Kevin2BTW, I just got my htc hermes in the mail.
02:18.25pofKevin2: is the hermes still hanging at boot because of the serial printks? or have been any progress while i was away ?
02:19.53Kevin2pof: I don't have any news on that.  I literally haven't even powered mine up yet.
02:21.41pofok, i knew cr2 was working on it before fosdem, but haven't seen him here lastly
02:24.28Kevin2<PROTECTED>
02:33.41pofyes it works
02:34.12pofyou don't need to cid unlock it if you don't want to loose warranty, just sim-unlock it
02:34.26pofv3 allows you to choose what you want to do
02:34.48pofinstead of making it SuperCID you can use Des SSPL to flash any rom
02:35.03pofkeeping your original cid :)
02:35.06Kevin2Do you get the sim card from the carrier?  I didn't get one with the phone, and I don't have a carrier for it yet.
02:35.34pofi bought mine unlocked, also without sim card
02:35.56pofit's a tytn from HTC, not a 8525
02:36.33pofah, and if you want to flash from linux, try this:
02:36.34pofhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296436
02:36.35pof:)
02:37.05Kevin2Yeah, I saw your note on irc from the other day.  :-)
02:37.33Kevin2Has anyone gotten Linux to boot yet?
02:39.03Kevin2Looks like I'll need to buy a "micro sd" - so much for these mini-sd cards..
02:39.06pofno as far as I know
02:40.10pofnow there's only this for hermes:
02:40.11pofhttp://handhelds.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/linux/kernel26/arch/arm/mach-s3c2410/htchermes/
02:40.47pofuse "make htchermes_defconfig" to compile
02:41.58pofharet goes until black line
02:43.22Kevin2Well, phone is up and charging now.  Looks good so far.
02:43.41Kevin2Unfortunately, I wont be able to play with it much till this weekend.
02:46.45Kevin2Wow, less than $10 for 1G of micro-sd.
02:47.38pofebay ?
02:48.15Kevin2newegg.com
03:05.31Kevin2Good night.

21:14.21Whackoif i boot my Magician into linux, will there be data loss?
21:16.08Whackolike when the backup battery is dead, or when you reflash the rom. or is that left intact?
21:22.55pH5Whacko: there is no flashing of the rom, so contacts etc. will be left intact if you  save them in the storage. everything else (custom installed apps, pim data in ram) is lost because you have to do a hard reset to get back to wince.
21:23.34Whackoooh
21:23.46Whackogood thing im running xBackup now :)
21:24.18pH5Whacko: indeed :)
21:25.29Whackojust to be sure... xBackup does save EVERYTHING to storage card, for easy recovery, right? :P
