09:16.01cr2goxboxlive: hi
09:16.23goxboxlivehi cr2
09:17.19cr2the moko hardware will be really available in september.
09:17.46goxboxliveyes i saw that, for the mass market
09:18.10cr2as i have said earlier, universal is the perfect match for it.
09:18.17goxboxliveBut the source is available in february
09:18.24cr2the source will be available in 2 weeks afaik.
09:18.29cr2yes.

09:19.57cr2hmm. but it was obvious from the very beginning that they will have problems.

09:20.23goxboxliveThe opie devs are about to make a release now. Should we try to clean up odevice_htc.cpp before the release of 1.2.3 ?
09:20.34goxboxliveproblems like what?
09:20.44rmoravcikhi, where i can download source code of dumping tool x?
09:21.07cr2rmoravcik: kevin's svn
09:21.27rmoravcikcr2: thanks
09:21.29cr2goxboxlive: odevice_htc... need to think about it.
09:22.02cr2problems like competing with htc on the hardware side.
09:22.27cr2because of our work, of course :)
09:23.14goxboxliveyes i guess. I have no intrest in the neo phone, but maybe i buy a couple for my mother and father just to support it if it's not to expensive
09:24.52cr2i don't completely understand their decision to develop such a phone.
09:26.25goxboxlivei kind of agree, because the phone is rahter pointed to the geek market, since open source and so
09:26.38goxboxliveand geeks wants hi tech
09:28.08cr2i talked with Harald in december 2005, and he knew linux was already booting on universal at that time.
09:28.24cr2and blueangel had a working phone.
09:28.27goxboxliveright
09:29.24goxboxliveBut to let it live i think it is very importent that we support the first device, so just dont end with that one.
09:29.53goxboxliveI saw that they where planning to release information about device #2 in september
09:30.23goxboxliveThat will probably be a universal killer i think. Myabe it will be like HTC AThena but much smaller.
09:30.52cr2hermes with the vga LCD.
09:31.10goxboxliveYes, what cpu speed is hermes running at
09:31.19cr2400
09:31.25goxboxliveok, thats ok i think
09:32.01cr2video is ati, so it's not a problem.
09:32.11goxboxliveHow is the Hermes posring going, have they been able to boot linux yet?
09:32.22cr2what is missing is the 2.8" vga LCD.
09:32.26goxboxliveyes
09:32.31cr2no, but i know how to debug it.
09:33.01goxboxlivei c, but lets finish the basic on the Universal first.
09:33.25goxboxliveHermes has included gps right?
09:34.05cr2yes.
09:34.22goxboxliveDo you think you will have it working with Linux?
09:34.28cr2athena=hermes+pxa27x
09:34.43goxboxliveOr is it a unknown hardware like gprs?
09:34.57cr2working with linux ?
09:35.28goxboxlivei know, i realy want the athena, but i think it will be too expensive, as mather of fact it will cost as much as a up 2 date laptop
09:35.32goxboxliveyes working with linux
09:36.06cr2hermes ?
09:36.17goxboxliveyes
09:36.25cr2sure.
09:36.37goxboxliveok
09:36.38cr2it's almost booting.
09:36.48goxboxlive???
09:36.56goxboxliveI was talking about the hgps part in hermes
09:37.04cr2i only need to simplify the gpio tracing.
09:37.07goxboxliveWill you be able to get it working running linux
09:37.18cr2ah. ok.
09:37.25cr2we will see :)
09:37.38cr2it does not work in wince, btw. at least now.
09:37.48goxboxliverealy :-)
09:37.58cr2yes.
09:38.06goxboxliveBut i guess it wouldnt be as easy as it is with a BT gps.
09:38.13cr2but in trinity, afaik.
09:38.20cr2no.
09:38.55cr2artemis has sirf3, there it is really easy. but it#s the evil omap850 cpu.
09:39.22goxboxliveright
09:41.38goxboxliveah now i c
09:42.05goxboxliveHermes (HTC Tytn) has no GPS . I thought it had
09:46.50goxboxlivecr2: The updates in the Opie cvs lately is very good. When you open a window now, every window is in max size and not small as it used to be. I made a new image yesterday, it is way bether than the older builds.
10:22.26cr2goxboxlive: hermes has the gps "chip"
10:22.44cr2i'll try the latest opie.
10:24.23goxboxlivepdadb.net says it doesnt have any gps chip.
10:25.05goxboxlivecr2: I have cleaned up a little in the map structure at gnulinux.biz. The images is now hosted under sd-mmc
10:37.26cr2ok, thanks.
10:38.06cr2pdadb.net is wrong. but maybe htc is evil and did not wire the chip. but the chip is there, we have the motherboard pictures.
10:38.25goxboxliveok

18:07.41Foxdiegreetings, how do I report a bug in the HTC Universal linux OPIE edition currently at http://handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/UniversalHowtoInstallLinux ?
18:13.06Foxdieokay well I have to go out, I'll leave the information here, if you boot it up with WiFi enabled, X (or whatever it is) stops responding to any input, I can press mail+web+Del to kill it and get back to a console though, I just thought I'd report this. I've confirmed this bug through two complete reinstalls of the latest files available from that URL.
18:14.09FoxdieHope this helps :)
