09:23.33lukerosshi all, i'm looking at getting a BlueAngel to replace my ipaq 3850 running familiar - will I regret it? :-)
09:23.52rob_w|miscompared to the 3850 ,, yes i think so
09:23.55rob_w|miscurrently
09:24.20rob_w|mispowermanagement is still heavy beta ..
09:24.40lukerossok, how long does it last under linux, typically?
09:29.26rob_w|misthe battery life is not too far from the orig ... yet it needs improvements .. still the battery seems tobe not charging underlinux(tm) and it wakes up too much !
09:30.04rob_w|miscr2,  can you hint me to the way to add gpio`s of BA to haret in order to get the charging n wake up stuff ??
13:37.18*** join/#htc-linux rob_w|mis (n=rob_w@p549BBDC8.dip0.t-ipconnect.de)
13:56.00cr2rob_w|mis: you don't need to add any gpios to haret, it will works "as is". What you can do, is to add the asic3 gpio descriptions in the src/asic3.c file
13:56.17rob_w|misoh
13:56.20rob_w|misok
13:56.29cr2Then the output will be more user-friendly.
13:57.03cr2like GPIOD5: 0 1 phone
13:57.58rob_w|misi see
13:57.59cr2the gpio descriptions are in the BlueangelASIC3 wiki page.
13:58.07rob_w|misi see again
13:58.12cr2ok :)
13:59.02rob_w|misi will give it some try`s then .. currently my kernel breaks on unresovled symbols ..

19:01.03lamikrDid you notice my omap850 message some days ago in irc?
19:01.06cr2how far is Jyväskylä from Tampere ?
19:01.18cr2yes. but i don't have omap850 .
19:01.31lamikrIt's 2 hour drive by car, about 150 km if I remember correctly.
19:01.43lamikrHow so, are you planning to visit in Tampere?
19:01.57lamikror Jyväskylä????
19:02.04cr2yes. in summer.
19:02.27cr2i'll come to Turku from Stockholm.
19:02.28lamikrIt would be nice to meet.
19:02.52cr2i have already been may times in south Finland, but never in the central.
19:03.04cr2well, maybe in August :)
19:03.08lamikrAre you from Sweden?
19:03.18cr2no. from Germany.
19:05.40lamikrThe city I live is relatively small, Jyväskylä itself has about 70 000 people and surrounding area included there are maybe about 120 000 people. Good things are here that it is pretty fast to go everywhere by bike as distances are pretty small :-) (Bike is usually faster than car)
19:06.05lamikrSo you plan to visit at least in Tampere in August?
19:07.34*** join/#htc-linux amgad (n=amgad@196.205.178.221)
19:07.38cr2I think so. Most probably in the end of July or first days of August. i will drive with the car.
19:07.46cr2http://www.openstreetmap.org/index.html?lat=60.45&lon=22.2833333&zoom=12
19:12.51lamikrcr2: Which city is that, tampere?
19:12.58cr2Turku
19:13.15cr2which my track :)
19:13.25cr2s/which/with/
19:14.58lamikrOh, nice :-) Maybe I need to byu a gps tracker sometimes and start adding jyväskyla data to there :-) Actually I have waited that these Galeon devices would start to appear.
19:15.23cr2Galileo ?
19:16.34lamikrcr2: Yes, sorry the galileo. What I have understood, it should be even one magnitude sharper.
19:17.18cr2but you need to wait at least 3 years. and probably more.
19:18.05lamikrcr2: Oh, I thought they planned to get their satellites up in 2007. (And that everybody has made their devices already for it :-)
19:18.19cr2gps is good enough outside the dense built areas
19:18.56cr22008 for the first satellites, and this is optimistic.
19:19.12cr2i have never seen a consumer galileo receiver.
19:22.29lamikrI have once tested one Nokia phone which had gps in it's covers. I tested how well I could measure the distance while I was running by having it in my hand. If I was in same location for about 5 minutes, the phone thought I had moved about 200 meters back and worth from the origo. But for measuring the distance while I was really running it worked pretty well. Maybe shoved about 5-10 % too...
19:22.31lamikr...much but that does not matter when you were jogging :-)
19:23.53lamikrI have had problems in yesterday and today to checkout the latest gomunicator by using url cvs -d:ext:lamikr@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/xanadux co -P gomunicator
19:24.05lamikrThe anonymous connection works ok.
19:24.21cr2the gps built in phones is not extremely accurate for several reasons.
19:24.38cr2i will have a look. the sf.net CVS is not very good ;)
19:25.38cr2yes. ssh: connect to host cvs.sourceforge.net port 22: Connection refused
19:25.56aweluxcr2, About my TS.
19:26.11cr2yes.
19:26.17aweluxI discovered that I get different coordinates when I press softly or when I press hard and fast
19:26.38aweluxon wince no difference
19:26.49cr2filtering ?
19:27.13cr2there are some ts routines in the older universal bootloader
19:27.17aweluxnot sure what is filtered in this case.
19:27.23aweluxic. nice
19:27.33cr2but i will look at them only if eveything else will fail.
19:27.38aweluxok
19:27.55aweluxI was really busy the last few days.
19:28.01aweluxAnd the weather is so nice...
19:28.07cr2can you boot the 2.6.16 kernel ?
19:28.22aweluxnot tried yet
19:28.40aweluxI try to compile the tslib
19:29.00aweluxthen I'm planning to write a few modules for it
19:29.18cr2the weather is very nice. but not so much if you work on the sun -side :)
19:29.21cr2ok.
19:31.27aweluxhehe. I'm just a lowly contractor. We don't get window places :)
19:40.43cr2i have moved away from the window. looked too much outside, and there was no air conditioner. in summer it was really bad.
19:45.12goxboxliveWell let me tell you guys about my workplace. For a half year i live on an island up north in Norway, i work in my home with NO  colleague's, all by my self . Man that is sad. Really looking foeward to move home to Oslo and join my workplace again.
19:48.41cr2alone is also really ugly.
19:50.50goxboxliveyes it is.
19:53.09goxboxliveI compiled yesterday (just for fun) a 2.6.16 HX4700 image and tried to boot it on my universal, but it stopped at the red line. I thougt, it might boot and of course it would give me a 'kernel panic' somwhere in the bootprocess, but i didnt get that far :-) .
19:54.05cr2you would not see it, because of the different LCD driver.
19:54.25cr2take something with the pxa27x LCD.
19:54.54cr2and an older haret, that does not autodetect the MTYPE.
19:55.07goxboxliveI have seen that the Loox720 gyus has managed to boot the 2.6.16 kernel. They have also used the Axim X50 touchscreen driver and they got it to work. Could we use the X50 touchscreen driver? Or is it just a port from the H2200
19:55.36cr2X50 ? i will look into hh.org wiki.
19:55.52goxboxliveOK, but i am afraid i am going to destroy the device, so i guess i''' wait.
19:56.13goxboxliveI'll can search for it to.
19:56.17cr2we need the minimal configuration to work. core+lcd. that's all.
19:57.55goxboxlivepost # 3 http://www.firstloox.org/forums/showthread.php?p=53372#post53372
19:58.57cr2well, it's not a tsc2046
19:59.39goxboxliveok
20:00.49lamikrcr2; Are you also getting this message from the xanadux cvs? ssh: connect to host cvs.sourceforge.net port 22: Connection timed out
20:01.23cr2yes.
20:01.59cr2but i have finally reached hh.org CVS
20:02.55cr2hx4700 has more updates. and acx100 too.
20:04.14lamikrcr2: Are you still having problems for receving data via wlan?
20:05.19lamikrI and Husam made both a fast test with the wlan driver (Both of us wrote the h6300 specific board code independetly) and for both of us it crashed the whole machine after loading the drivers.
20:06.24cr2hmm. memory debugging code ?
20:10.41lamikrcr2: That might well be it. I only made a diff between hx4700 and htc cvs versions and did not notice that as it was propably same both for the hx4700 and htc.
20:13.56lamikrcr2: Do you remember where the memory debug code is?
20:14.52cr2in mem.c ?
20:28.56lamikrI will check...
20:29.23lamikrFound just out that developer/ssh cvs access has been down for 2 days already: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1485601&group_id=1&atid=200001

20:32.16cr2?
20:33.05lamikrYes, in this morning somewhere...
20:35.52lamikrActually somebody complained that it has been down from sunday :-(
20:48.40aweluxcr2, compiling tslib: undefined reference to `rpl_malloc'
20:48.48aweluxDo you know anything about that one ?
20:49.04aweluxIt happens when I compile the test suite
20:51.01cr2it is 'malloc' redefined for some reason in one *.h file
20:51.15cr2just remove the #define

20:52.01*** join/#htc-linux immolo (i=zbnfog@cpc3-cosh1-0-0-cust1001.cos2.cable.ntl.com)
20:53.55aweluxah. it's in configure somehow and subsequently used in config.h. thanks for the hint.
22:27.26aweluxI'm now pretty sure that there is something wrong with the TS driver itself.
22:28.29aweluxThe values of the tsraw device can't be used to get a good ts calibration even if you apply an screen individual mapping.
22:29.16aweluxcr2, I suggest you do an od -x -v /dev/input/tsraw0 and check if the values are different when you press hard or soft on the TS
22:29.46aweluxthe TS driver can't distinguish a soft press from a hard press to a different point.
22:30.28aweluxBut wince certainly can so we must make something wrong when we aquire the raw ts data.
