00:03.30defendguini guess its useless i cant figure out how to even begin to install linux on this thing
00:07.27reenoohmm
00:08.31reenoopb_: any idea what might be wrong with my linphone setup if I can extablish a connection (the "phone rings" and I can accept the call) but no sound gets through?
00:09.37pb_reenoo: if you run linphone from the terminal, does it say anything?
00:09.50pb_other than that, check your mixer settings and the like.
00:12.08reenooit doesn't say anything unusual in the terminal output (no errors anyway). the mixer settings are fine according to gpe-mixer (I can hear the beep tone just fine)
00:12.38reenoos/fine/fine on both ends/
00:13.54joshua_is igain set?
00:14.06joshua_is internal mic st to record?
00:14.28joshua_if you do cat /dev/dsp > file, yell HI!, hit ctrl-c, cat file > /dev/dsp, does your iPAQ yell HI back?
00:16.10reenooit does
00:21.41reenooI'm testing with sipomatic on the remote end. all I expect to work is output anyway
00:28.40reenooI'm off to bed. 'night all

01:27.06aquariusI've been doing a bit of research, because the Cancel button on my Zaurus 5000D suspends it fine but then it won't unsuspend. I think that this is a GPE thing (because it worked when I had the same OZ kernel and Opie installed); where might this be configured?
01:27.51Cwiiisaquarius: It's not a gpe thing, there are problems with apm on the collie... Hopefully be 'fixed' soon, am working on it - in the mean time, as root, run 'apm -s' to suspend safely
01:28.31aquariusCwiiis, ah, hang on; I thought I had to do "echo 1 > /proc/sys/pm/suspend", which *does* suspend correctly.
01:29.01*** part/#gpe dougt (~dougt@covad-mozilla.meer.net)
01:29.05Cwiiisaquarius: Pretty much the same thing
01:29.18Cwiiisaquarius: apm -s is shorter :)
01:29.43aquariusCwiiis, I bow before your obviously massively superior knowledge of this stuff :)
01:30.34Cwiiisaquarius: Trust me, my knowledge is not massively superior :p hehe
01:31.10aquariuswhat's gpe-package like? should I just be using ipkg from the command line?
01:31.34aquarius(and which feed(s) should I be using for gpe packages?)
01:32.16aquarius(and for python and pygtk for the zaurus?)
01:33.10Cwiiisaquarius: gpe-package is coming along, but it won't let you install/uninstall from anything but root at the moment - hopefully that'll be remedied by the release of OZ 3.5.3
01:33.26Cwiiisaquarius: All depends on what distro you're using
01:33.43aquariusCwiiis, OZ 3.5.2 and their GPE initrd.
01:33.51CwiiisI'm guessing openzaurus, in which case, look on the site (although the rom should have all (well, most) of the feeds you need already configured)
01:34.12aquariusthe ROM has *no* feeds configured in /etc/ipkg.conf...
01:34.22CwiiisI wouldn't really recommend using OZ 3.5.2 gpe, 3.5.1 is a bit more stable
01:34.41aquariusOh. Hm.
01:35.52aquariuswhen you say "look on the site", which site? neither the GPE site nor the OZ site seem to have anything about which feeds to use...
01:36.24Cwiiisaquarius: The OZ site had the feed locations last I looked... perhaps I'm wrong, let me check
01:40.31aquariusah. http://openzaurus.org/official/unstable/3.5.2/feed/ looks like it?
01:41.10Cwiiisaquarius: That sounds about right, although I imagine you'll want subdirectories of that (base, x11 and gpe I think - probably others I've forgotten, I don't really use feeds..)
01:41.41aquariusyep, looks good.
01:42.48aquariusdevel as well, for Python.
01:45.51aquariusif I do "ipkg -d <dest> XXX", will XXX's dependencies also get installed to <dest>?
01:46.41Cwiiisaquarius: Yes
01:47.05Cwiiisaquarius: I take it you know all about ipkg-link? (soon to be obselete :))
01:47.26aquariusas in: "ipkg-link mount /mnt/cf" after I've installed packages to CF?
01:47.34Cwiiisaquarius: Yup
01:47.54aquariusobsolete? is ipkg going to be clever enough to run it itself?
01:50.26Cwiiisaquarius: Nope, working on unionfs - no need to link, just overlay :)
01:50.41aquariushooray! yay! thank gawd for that. :)
01:51.12aquariusso you can have different CF cards -- one with "all your python stuff on", a completely different one with other apps, and just slot in the appropriate one?
01:51.20Cwiiisaquarius: I already have it working quite nicely on my PDA, just have to wait for the higher ups to work out the best way to implement in regards to mounting/unmounting of devices and such and for it to make it back into OE :)
01:51.25Cwiiisaquarius: Yes :)
01:51.41aquariusthat's bleedin' fantastic, that. Rock and roll :)
01:52.24Cwiiisaquarius: Yeah, made my day when it worked :) hehe - No longer have to wait a minute while Minimo links to root :p hehe
01:54.33aquariusI need to throw together an ebook reading app. gpe-plucker is rubbish. :)
01:54.59Cwiiisaquarius: Hack at it and make it better :)
01:55.39aquariusMy C is, er...not all that it could be. :)
01:55.44aquariusPython I can do, though.
01:55.51Cwiiisaquarius: Learn as you go along, best way to do things! :)
01:56.21aquariusI appreciate the idea, I admit it, but life is frankly too short to learn C. :)
01:58.02Cwiiisaquarius: No way, if you know Python you're already half way there! Not that a decent python app would go unappreciated, but improvements to gpe-plucker I'm sure would be most welcome
01:58.53Cwiiisaquarius: Nope :p hehe
01:59.19aquariuspants. Oh well, nothing fo rit, it's not responding to keys or to ssh. reboot time...
