14:59.43Jin^eLDHi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, anyway... I'm trying to find some information on uclinux, basically, if I a special toolchain is needed, i.e. if I have to compile a gcc version that can produce flat format binaries, or if a usual gnueabi toolchain for arm will do the trick?

22:17.19Dr{Who}need some advice. I have been hunting a problem in my buildroot project for several months. I have had a continued problem where my init script written in bash will hang in the kernel and my boot wont start. Using QEMU or real hardware. I have tracked it down to bash touching kernel memory and faulting and the init process has little recovery for such a problem. The init never starts not even the first line of the script so its bash itself. I have
22:17.20Dr{Who}no problem with bash 2.04 but i have tried bash 3.1 and 3.2 both compiled static and they both do this evern 1-4 boot cycles. sometimes it will continue.
22:17.29Dr{Who}I need a way to debug bash itself to see if i can narrow it down
22:17.59Dr{Who}kdb installed in my kernel does not help. As when bash faults out it leaves bash's functions and the breakpoint is inside of the kernel itself.
22:18.17Dr{Who}if a process causes a kernel fault is there anyway to narrow down where?
22:18.25Dr{Who}specificly process 1
22:19.23Dr{Who}it would be better if when bash does fault and try to touch kernel memory that the debugger stops at that exact point or leaves me some data as to where the fault occured inside of bash
22:19.31Dr{Who}but as of yet i cant seem to get that.
